“A prophet is not recognized in his own land”

Welcome to the Official Website of the Musical Stylings of Eric David Perez!

Singer, Songwriter, Rapper, Entertainer, Student, Artist, Poet, Prophet, Improv Actor,

Born in Brooklyn, New York and Moved to Wallingford, CT when I was 8. I Fell in love with music and singing at an early age. I Fell in love with Hip Hop during elementary school and started writing songs as well as raps in Middle School. Performed a rap with a fellow classmate and ghost wrote his lyrics for a science presentation in 7th Grade. The experience from that was amazing and ultimately got me hooked in songwriting and performing.

Music had then replaced my first interest, Art. During my Junior Year High School, I became a member of the Sheehan Chorus Instructed by Janet Oblon. I spent the first semester not registered in the class, yet I still attended class during a study hall period in order to be involved. In that same year, I tried out for the school Musical with no prior acting experience or training. In my first year I was a lead as Captain Miles Gloriosus in the Musical "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," directed by Chuck Rinaldi and Rene Reilly Rinaldi. Performing as a lead in my first ever musical was one of my proudest moments.

My second most inspiring moment was performing backup vocals for Josh Groban twice at the Oakdale Theatre alongside fellow classmates my Junior Year. Encouraged by Janet Oblon I formed a group with Tom Aimi, "TAEP" consisting of shared lead vocals with Tom Aimi and acoustic guitar also played by Tom Aimi, and a late edition to the group Dan Hernandez on Acoustic Guitar as well. As TAEP I perfomed a good amount of shows for both School, Local Shows, Charity Fundraiser Events and Private Parties. During my Junior and Senior Year I had performed solos in Chorus and in my Senior year I played a lead in the another musical "Kiss Me Kate" as General Harrison Howell as well as playing Hortensio.
One of my very last shows with TAEP was an awesome experience being that we played at the Webster Underground.

Since High School I have worked now on solo works and have also got into Improv Acting. I was involved in a short-lived R&B Group I started with Christian Bryant called "Harmonii" with Kelly Schreier, Thomas Aimi, and original member Ryan Ruiz. In the group's short life-span we played at the "Groggy Frog" in Southington, Connecticut during a set of local Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, - Bart Bryant.

To get back into comedic acting I took Flying Blind II, an Improv Course at Hartford Stage in Hartford, Connecticut Instructed by Summar Elguindy of Sea Tea Improv and I have also been to some Improv workshops/mixers.

Currently my main focus now is college and solo music. I currently attend Middlesex Community College seeking to get two degrees, Broadcast Cinemas and Communications. My main focus is the audio aspect but to hope to learn this semester some editing as well as shooting and scriptwriting.
I am not sure what my ideal career would be but I hope it to be one I enjoy. I am interested in all media.

When I am not working on music, I spend most of my time with my beautiful girlfriend, Gina. The name Gina means Queen and the name Eric means Ruler, such as King. Together we are King and Queen.

" I am a Middlesex Community College Student. I am pursuing two more Degrees: Communications and Broadcast Cinemas.
Hopefully once I get those degrees I can then go to Capital Community College and obtain a Degree in their Music Industry Program." - Eric David Perez
